Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve updated my blog, but I wanted to introduce you to a brand new photo project which has been started to aide in the search for Lauren Spierer, and it’s super easy.

Step 1: Take a photo that you love, IT MUST BE YOUR OWN PHOTO.
Step 2: After taking a photo, send that photo to newsonlaurens@gmail.com or tweet to @NewsOnLaurenS with the hashtag #findLauren. Please do not submit a photo that has any text on it, and again IT MUST BE YOUR OWN PHOTO.

21 Candles For Lauren Spierer
On January 17th Lauren Spierer will be turning 21 years old. Purchase birthday party supplies (cake, decorations, etc.) and take a picture of yourself celebrating Lauren’s birthday. EMAIL YOUR PICTURES OF YOURSELF PARTICIPATING TO TWEETS4LAUREN@HOTMAIL.COM!

Tweets 4 Lauren will be held on January 19th beginning at midnight, and ending on January 20th at midnight. You can participate in the event by creating a Twitter account, and following @Tweets4Lauren & using #Tweets4Lauren & #findLauren when tweeting. 

Balloons For Lauren
Balloons For Lauren will be held on February 3rd. You can participate by purchasing a helium filled balloon, and attaching Lauren’s missing poster to it, or other information about Lauren Spierer. EMAIL PICTURES OF YOURSELF PARTICIPATING TO TWEETS4LAUREN@HOTMAIL.COM!

SIGN LAUREN’S LAW NOW!

In the early hours of June 3, 2011, 20-year-old Lauren Spierer vanished after a night out with friends at Indiana University. After months of searching and thousands of tips, here we are today, still missing our dear Lauren. While dozens of Lauren’s friends and other IU students have spoken with investigators, four of the Persons of Interest (POIs) who were last known to be with Lauren remain silent, and refuse to take police-administered polygraph tests. 

When a person is reported missing, time is of the essence and every detail is crucial. Even the smallest tip can turn into something big. While it is of one’s legal right to hire and be advised by an attorney, in missing persons cases, one should not have the right to deny a police-administered polygraph test. In order to be fully cleared and dismissed from a missing persons case, all Persons of Interest (POIs) should be required to take a police-administered polygraph test. It is these unique missing persons cases that are time intensive and typically require additional resources within law enforcement departments. Requiring that all Persons of Interest (POIs) take a police administered polygraph test will help important details emerge sooner in the investigation, therefore reducing the number of investigators and cutting down on time exerted in solving cases. If the persons of interest are eliminated, investigators are able to better focus their efforts and consider other options more aggressively.

For the families and friends a missing person, every day that goes by without answers is another day of pain, heartbreak and sadness. 

Your signature represents hope, and by signing this petition, you are telling legislators that it’s time to listen to the pleas of the families of those who have vanished and to put more consideration on the nightmare they face every day as they wait anxiously for answers.

Hey there everyone! I wanted to wait a little bit to announce the second round of #Tweets4Lauren and of course another event I’m still working on getting planned to give everyone time to relax, and try to enjoy the holidays. During the past few days I’ve been thinking about Lauren, and her family just imagining how alone they must feel without their daughter during the holidays. I couldn’t imagine being without a loved one on the holidays. I don’t considered myself a strong Christian or anything but I do pray for the Spierer family every single night hoping they get some closure. Seeing as I can’t do much to bring Lauren home to them I will try to show them we support them, and do as much as possible in anyway possible. 

#Tweets4Lauren: Round II
Tweets for Lauren was held on December 23rd, and from about 10 PM the night before the event just reached so many people. I wasn’t able to read every tweet, or retweet every tweet but there were so many. Thank you so much for tweeting for Lauren. 

The next #Tweets4Lauren will be held on January 19th beginning at midnight, and once again ending on January 20th at midnight. So be sure to use the hastags #findLauren & #Tweets4Lauren in all of your tweets! In order to trend you have to use those tags in your tweets!!

I wanted to go ahead and announce this event as soon as I possible could! I’ll write to you once again on January 1st to announce something else.

#Tweets4Lauren was a worldwide event held on 12/23/11 and unfortunately ended on 12/24/11. I’d like to thank EVERYONE who participated in this event making it a SMASHING SUCCESS.

Thanks for making your way to my blog post, here. I’ve been quite behind on making blog posts but you know how I come to you with important updates from Lauren Spierer events & such. Today was my first event ever for Lauren Spierer (meaning one that I created) and it was a twitter / facebook event. LAURENBOOK & #Tweets4Lauren (refer to last post for more info).. 

I found it quite funny that our #Tweets4Lauren made it all the way to the wonderful land of facebook where LAURENBOOK was being held. Although there was much more focus on #Tweets4Lauren I’d say both events had a great impact on the search for Lauren Spierer. 

#Tweets4Lauren will be held again in January (date TBA on 1/1/12 so keep your eyes peeled!). I hope we get EVEN MORE tweeters to participate in this wonderful event.

Voices for Lauren Spierer is a group on facebook with about 150 members. The group was created on July 7th of this year “with a mission to help spread the word and contribute to the effort to find Lauren Spierer.” With members from all around the world like DJ Martin (Texas), Cathy Garger (Maryland), and of course those from Indiana you can only imagine how much word this group is actually spreading. 

Voices for Lauren Spierer events:

• P.U.M.P (Putting up more posters) for Lauren: an event inspired after Charlene Spierer publicly posted a letter she had received about Lauren’s posters littering the town and the fact that a lot of posters had been torn down. The group (and more) put up hundreds of more posters for Lauren Spierer in November.
• DJ Martin’s STILLETOS FOR LAUREN: although it wasn’t necessarily a Voices for Lauren Spierer held event member DJ Martin participated in a different kind of event to raise funds for the Lauren Spierer account. DJ Martin designed heels with a Hello Kitty & Lauren Spierer theme.
• Support The Spierers was held on the 6 month mark of Lauren’s disappearance. The event was planned by Shelly Leonard and Cathy Garger. Cathy Garger traveled all the way from Maryland to participate in the event. The Spierer family was also in attendance. More information about this event.. Scroll down!
• LAURENBOOK & Tweets For Lauren Spierer: This event is still to come.. 12/23/11 and all day event. Do you have twitter? Use #Tweets4Lauren and #findLauren and tweet ALL DAY about Lauren Spierer.. We want to create a new kind of spark for Lauren and to hopefully get trending. Tag @Tweets4Lauren to get a retweet. Do you have facebook? LAURENBOOK is also on December 23rd.. It’s simple! Change your facebook picture to any picture of Lauren Spierer (her poster would be great!) and post about Lauren Spierer.. Join a group! (Voices for Lauren Spierer is recommended). KEEP THE HOPE ALIVE!

Support The Spierers
On 12/03/11 exactly 6 months since Lauren Spierer went missing there was a vigil held to lend support to the Spierer family. This event was held in Bloomington, IN the town where Lauren Spierer went missing. The event began at 7:00 PM with a prayer at Smallwood (Lauren’s apartment complex) and then event participants walked down to the fountain square mall to view the tree, and how beautiful it was! Several were in attendance and among those in attendance were Rob, and Charlene Spierer (Lauren’s parents). Earlier I sat down to watch a movie on netflix and as I was searching through new releases I saw a title “Megan Is Missing” so I thought I’d give it a go. It showed what seemed like real life footage / images of two girls who were kidnapped. You might think that you’ve seen something really messed up on a movie but after watching this movie I don’t think that I will ever be the same. I want ANY kidnapper to be killed INSTANTLY. 

That’s all. 

There are rumors flying around twitter with THE YEAR OF THE JONAS BROTHERS actually a worldwide trending topic. Users are saying that the brothers will be going on tour in Australia in 2012 and a release of a new album as well. It all started with a tweet from Big Rob, security guard for the Jonas Brothers. Nick Jonas is dating an Australian girl so could this be why they’re heading to Australia? Who knows!

Joe Jonas is now officially a solo artist with the release of his brand new album FASTLIFE where he actually collaborated with lil wayne in just in love. The album has actually reached much success already within it’s short release. I’m just not much of a fan of it! What do you think?

Dear Bullies, 

Did you know that you’re hurting someone inside? Every day you make someone feel worthless and make them feel as if they would be better off dead. Did you know that you’re possibly killing someones baby? Why do you want to hurt someone so bad that they want to commit suicide? This happens everyday. It’s the 21st century you need to start accepting others for who they are - get with the program? Your own life problems are absolutely no excuse for how you treat others. You give what you want to receive, and I promise you that karma does exist. It’s not too late to help make this world a better place.. Give kindness, and you shall get kindness back. As human beings we’re suppose to be here for each other.. We’re not “animals” anymore! We’ve changed.. We’re not some cavemen, alright? We don’t have any reasons to intentionally hurt someone and make them want to kill themselves. That’s all I’ve got to say. I beg that you say sorry and stop.. Get yourself some help before you’re going to need a lawyer after being arrested because that person you bullied hung themselves, shot themselves, etc. That’s all it takes it to say sorry, you’ll make someones day!

Definition of bullying from google: Use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.

You know what bullying is.. Everyone should! It’s OKAY to tell someone if you’re going through bullying, okay?
